Festivals & events in January in Broward

Plenty of interesting and entertaining things to do in January are featured in Broward. Lots of events are free or inexpensive.

Las Olas Art Fair

The trendy and ritzy shopping Las Olas shopping district is the venue for the Las Olas Art Fair in Fort Lauderdale Saturday and Sunday, January 4-5, with free entry and exhibits by dozens of artists from around the nation.

Perhaps you'll walk over Riverwalk January 5 for Jazz Brunch with free live entertainment along the waterfront promenade.

Entry to the events is free. Parking is about $3 an hour.

West Hollywood Salsa Fest

Salsa beats delight fans at West Hollywood Salsa Fest 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, January 4 featuring  Melina Almodovar and Orquestra. Entry is free. It's at Boulevard Heights Amphitheater, 6770 Garfield Street, Hollywood 33020

Taste of Dania

The Taste of Dania street fair features entertainment, a kids area, and food vendors.

Entry is free. A tasting wristband for access to tastings from select restaurants and food vendors is available for about $42.

The event is 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 100 W. Dania Beach Boulevard. Pets are permitted and parking is free.

Weston Safety Expo

For a family excursion, Weston Safety Expo includes entertainment with a DJ, bouncing on inflatables, and displays of law enforcement vehicles. The event is   6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, January 24 at Weston Regional Park. Entry and parking are free. Food vendors offer something to eat for purchase.

DoggiePalooza

DoggiePalooza for people and pets is 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, January 25 at Happy Tails Dog Park, 6600 SW 16th Street, Plantation 33317.  Parking is free. Entry is $2 per person.

My Hollywood Pride

The street festival is Sunday, January 26 on Hollywood Boulevard in downtown Hollywood. Entry is free.
