Live entertainment, pirate fun and environmental information are featured at free events at Esplanade Park on scenic Riverwalk in Fort Lauderdale. The events focus on appreciating and protecting the ocean.
Ocean Day and Pirate Fest
Pirates activities offer an alluring spin on an environmental event, which includes strolling performers, fun for kids, face painting, floating Tiki bars, vendors and pirates. A Kids Zone features a pirate ship, Black Beard Pirate Shows and other fun. Mermaids are on deck.
Ocean Day and Fort Lauderdale Pirate Fest events and activities in 2023 are 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. April 29 at Esplanade Park. Entry is free. Food and drinks are offered for purchase.
Wearing pirate garb is encouraged. A fun element is the opportunity to watch a release of rehabilitated birds from Wildlife Center of South Florida, a non-profit rescue organization in Fort Lauderdale.

Earth Day event
Earth Day event in 2023 is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 30 at Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale. The event includes Kids Zone, information about food gardening, live entertainment, vendors and food trucks. Entry is free. Donations are appreciated.
Esplanade Park is at 400 SW Second Street, Fort Lauderdale 33312 . Parking in the area is usually about $3 an hour.
