If you’ve been postponing going to see that blockbuster movie, you might want to consider closing the deal on Saturday, Sept. 3. That’s the day — the only day — that most of the major theater chains in South Florida will be offering discounted tickets for every movie, every showtime, in every format because it is National Cinema Day.
The Cinema Foundation is sponsoring this national discount day to entice movie lovers back into theaters to watch their favorite flicks on the big screen. It’s a great time to catch a double feature with the whole family. Plus, moviegoers on Saturday will be among the first to see exciting new trailers of upcoming titles from such major studios as Disney, Lionsgate, Paramount, Sony Pictures Classics, Universal, and Warner Bros., but only on Sept. 3.
The $3 ticket price does not include taxes or booking fees and is only available at participating theaters.
If you don’t find the film you want to see at one of the national chains, don’t forget to check out the smaller, family owned or independent movie theaters, too. For instance, Movies of Delray and Movies of Lake Worth will be participating in this one-day only special.
If you want to take advantage of this deal, here’s the best link to find a participating theater near you: nationalcinemaday.org.
