Free WLRN film screening at RSMAS on Key Biscayne

Miami's WLRN, our PBS affiliate and NPR station, is hosting a free screening of their film "Facing the Future: South Florida vs. Climate Change," on Tuesday, June 9, at 7 p.m. at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science on Key Biscayne. The showing is free but RSVP is required.

The film follows climate leaders and advocates over the course of a year, shedding light on both the urgency of the challenges and the resilience of individuals in the field working toward solutions, culminating at a regional summit in Key West where participants reflect on progress and the path forward.

Filmed throughout the 2024 hurricane season, it highlights innovative projects and grassroots efforts across the region, from infrastructure improvements to environmental education and citizen science in an effort to address the issue of sea-level rise and climate change in South Florida.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A moderated by WLRN's Environmental Editor Jenny Staletovich.
