Broward libraries offer a wealth of free resources including birding gear, high-tech equipment and robotics.

Play at a park

Lots of parks offer free entry and free parking, or are relatively inexpensive.

Take a nature walk. Zip down a sliding board. Toss a Frisbee.

If you like wet activities, some parks feature water playgrounds, pools and splash pads.

Swimming lessons

Free swimming lessons for kids, adults and teenagers are offered March 25-29, and registration is required online. The lessons are at YMCA facilities in Broward.

Art aficionados

Downtown Hollywood Murals features about 30 murals painted on buildings and other structures in easy walkable route.

Train display

Plantation Historical Museum features a model train display. It's open Wednesdays – Saturdays, and entry is free.
