Miami-Dade County wants you to save water. The county water and sewer department has several incentives to encourage water conservation through its Every Drop Counts initiative.
They are offering a free high-efficiency shower head for bathrooms built prior to 1996. After completing the application, if approved, they will tell you where to go to pick them up. You have to agree to allow WASD access to the property to inspect and verify the installation of the shower heads.
Miami-Dade also offers a rebate of up to $50 for installing a new Water Sense-certified high-efficiency toilet. There are different offers and rules depending on whether you live in a single-family home or a multi-family unit. All of the information is available on their website with addresses, contact information and downloadable applications.
Installing high-efficiency fixtures in your home can not only help reduce your water usage, but also help cut your water bill at the same time. If you are interested, click here for more details and follow the instructions.
There is also a program for rebates on approved Irrigation Retrofits for homeowners who have yards, ranging from $120 to $400. Click here to see rebates for landscaping.
