If you like being out and about without spending a wad of dough, Broward offers plenty of free and inexpensive festivals, holiday events and live entertainment. Many are free.

Events include festivities for St. Patrick's Day and Easter, as well as festivals, art shows and free concerts, with many events to choose from every day

World Fest

Free entry for World Fest in Weston

World Fest in Weston is a free event with international foods, art, and live entertainment. Weston World Fest is 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, March 2, and entry is free. International fare and drinks are offered for purchase from regional restaurants and other food vendors. The event is at Weston Regional Park,  20200 Saddle Club Road, Weston. Parking is free.

Kite Festival

The Kite Festival is 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1 at Miramar Regional Park,  16801 Miramar Parkway. Parking is free.

Las Olas Art Fair

The Las Olas Art Fair is 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, March 1, and Sunday, March 2 on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. Entry is free. Parking is about $3 an hour.

Dania Beach Wine and Seafood Festival

Dania Beach Wine & Seafood Festival offers free entry

The Dania Beach Wine and Seafood Festival is 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday, March 8, and entry is free. Live bands, artists and food for purchase are included in the festivities. Other features include

The festival is at Dania Beach City Hall Plaza, 100 West Dania Beach Boulevard, Dania Beach 33004.  Free parking is offered at the Dania garage and other location, which includes free shuttles. Pets are permitted.

St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival in Fort Lauderdale

St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival in Fort Lauderdale in 2025 is 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, March 8, and entry is free. The festival is 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Tunnel Top Plaza on Las Olas Boulevard and Southeast Sixth Avenue, Fort Lauderdale 33316.

St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival in Hollywood

St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival in Hollywood is Sunday, March 9, with a parade at 1 p.m., live entertainment at 19th Avenue & Hollywood Boulevard, and activities for kids. Live bands are U2 by UV and Uproot Hootenanny.

Water Matters Day

Free trees for Broward residents are offered at Water Matters Day in Davie. Educational exhibits, vendors and the opportunity for free trees for Broward residents  is offered at Water Matters Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Tree Tops Park in Davie.  Entry into the park is $3 per vehicle with up to 8 people. Food trucks offers nibbles for purchase.  Tree Tops Park is at 3900 SW 100 Ave., Davie 33328.

Africana Fest in Fort Lauderdale 

Africana Fest in Fort Lauderdale includes free events

  • Jazz performance featuring vocalist & violinist Nicole Yarling Thursday, March 13 at African American Research Library, 2650 Sistrunk Blvd., Fort Lauderdale 33311. Register online
  • Africana Festival is 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, March 15 with performances, authors, discussions, presentations, visual arts, and activities . The emphasis is on the Harlem Renaissance. The library is at 2650 Sistrunk Blvd., Fort Lauderdale 33311.

Dancing in the Street, Oakland Park

Slip into your dancing shoes for Dancing in The Street 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.  Friday, March 14 on Northeast 12th Avenue in Oakland Park. The block party is between Oakland Park Boulevard and Northeast 38th Street. Entry and parking are free.

The event offers food trucks, art, a kids' zone and lots of live bands to dance to. Entertainment includes School of Rock, Bobby Nathan Band, Solid Brass Band and others.

Blarney Bash

Blarney Bash with Irish food, beverages and entertainment is 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Friday March 14 and entry is free.

The event includes

  • food trucks and adult beverages for purchase for ages 21 and older
  • The Byrne Br0thers
  • Drake Irish Dance
  • Pipe and Drum Performance

The venue is Coral Springs City Hall lawn, with free parking at the garage.

Bring lawn seating and reusable water bottles. A water station is offered at the event.

Coral Springs

GardenFest and Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is loaded with information, art and entertainment. The event is 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16, and entry is free. The Walk is at  2874 N. University Drive, Coral Springs. Free parking and trolleys are offered.

Riverwalk International Food Festival

Free entry for Riverwalk International Food Festival

Entry is free for Riverwalk International Food Festival. The festival  is 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. March 22, at Esplanade Park on Riverwalk. Food and drinks are offered for purchase. The festival usually includes art and artisan vendors and entertainment.  Esplanade Park is at 400 SW Second Street, Fort Lauderdale 33312. Parking is usually about $3 an hour.

Palooza for Spring

Spring Palooza in Pompano Beach is 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. March 22, with free entry. The event includes  a petting zoo, rides, bubble show, entertainment, food vendors, toddler one  and art activities

LitLive in Fort Lauderdale

LitLive in in 2025 is 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 28 and entry is free. The event features panel discussions with authors and book signings. It's at NSU Art Museum, One East Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale.

The event is presented by Broward Public Library Foundation and information is on the website.

Touch a Truck events

For kids and families, Touch A Truck events offer an opportunity to interact with parked vehicles and talk to the professionals who drive them. 

Events include

  • Touch A Truck in Plantation is 9 a.m. – noon Saturday, March 15,  and entry is free. The venue is Plantation Equestrian facilities, 954-476-4316, 1451 NW 118th Avenue, Plantation 33323.

Scottish Festival at Heritage Park in Plantation

Southeast Florida Scottish Festival & Highland Games  is 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Plantation Heritage Park, at 1100 Fig Tree Lane, Plantation 33317.  Entry at the event is $25 for adults, $5 for 6-14  and free for age 5 and younger. Discount opportunities are offered online and at local businesses for purchase before the event.
