Free film screening at MOAD at Freedom Tower
Journalism, especially print newspaper junkies will love the upcoming screening of "The Last Days of the Miami News," part of MOAD Movies showing on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Museum of Art & Design in the Freedom Tower, downtown Miami. Admission is free but RSVP is required.

Directed by Mel Kaiser, the film chronicles the final days of Miami's afternoon daily newspaper, the Miami Daily News which later became just the Miami News who built the historic landmark building and operated out of there until 1966, when they moved into The Miami Herald building where they were until 1988 when the News ceased operation.
The film will be introduced by Katharine Labuda, Special Collections & Archives Librarian of Miami Dade-Public Library System and there will be a post-screening Q&A with Director Mel Kiser.
