Free and cheap events at MOCA in North Miami

The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami is the place to check out groundbreaking and thought-provoking exhibitions and catch live jazz acts on the last Friday of the month during the free Jazz at MOCA. However, it's also where to go for other free and cheap events.

Here is the February lineup:

Saturday, Feb. 7 from 2-4 p.m., miniMakers: Bisa Butler-inspired collages workshop celebrating Black History Month that explores identity and storytelling through mixed-media portrait making. Activity is for kids ages 6-12. Click here to RSVP.

Saturday, Feb. 14 from 1-3 p.m., MOCA Makers: Legacy Series; Body As Archive workshop led by Miami-based dancer and performing artist Clinton “Tazz” Harris and teaching artist Melanie Oliva exploring the body as living archive and figure drawing used to record movement, memory and presence. $10 for members, $15 for non-members. Click here to RSVP.

Friday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. Jazz at MOCA with King Friday.

There's something for everyone all month long including classes for kids and adults and other exhibition-themed special events.
