Free and cheap events at MOCA in North Miami

The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami is the place to check out groundbreaking and thought-provoking exhibitions and catch live jazz acts on the last Friday of the month during the free Jazz at MOCA. However, it's also where to go for other free and cheap events.

Here is the January lineup:

Saturday, Jan. 3 from 2-4 p.m., miniMakers: Nature in Print-Botanical Zines workshop using flower and leaf rubbings and pressed pigment transfers onto fabric and paper then collaging over them to create a handmade zine. Activity is for kids ages 6-12. Click here to RSVP.

Sunday, Jan. 4 from 10:30-11:30 a.m., Sunday Stories: Sensory Feeling Jars a sensory-friendly activity for infants to kids age 6 where they choose colors and textures and utilize collage to create their own personalized sensory jar. The activity is inspired by author Deborah Marcero's book “Out of a Jar.” Click here to RSVP.

There's something for everyone all month long including classes for kids and adults and other exhibition-themed special events.
