Free: ‘Dias de Los Muertos’ celebration, Oct. 28, Downtown Doral

Downtown Doral will be reaching out to loved ones who have died and getting in touch with friends and relatives from the other side during its Dias de Los Muertos celebration.

October 28, 2023, from 3 to 10 p.m.

Family-friendly fun festivities for Dias de Los Muertos include Flora, Doral's six-foot tall skull made entirely of flowers, and she is back with a new look and an ofrenda from the other side where you can offer wishes to the dearly departed.

There will be treats, special offerings from nearby restaurants and photo ops with the live Catrinas (ladies of the dead), Flora and the Calaveras. At 7 p.m., the celebration continues into the night with a folkloric parade of Mariachis, special themed menu by Doral's top restaurants and a festive cocktail inspired by Flora's love for family. plus performances with folkloric music, dancers and more.

The FREE event will have a family-friendly celebration from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a nighttime celebration from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. During each portion visitors can pose for photos with live Catrinas and Catrins, the iconic symbol of the holiday, and a custom, six-foot-tall Skull named “Flora” that will be made entirely of vibrant and colorful silk flowers.
