‘Day of the Dead’ celebrations at CityPlace Doral

CityPlace Doral is gearing up for a monthlong Dias de Los Muertos celebration starting on Monday, Oct. 9 and lasting through Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023.

First, CityPlace will be trimmed and adorned with colorful and spooky holiday themed decorations in the Mexican tradition to honor friends and family who have died. Dias de Los Muertos is a time for celebration and fun, as well as remembrance. It is a time in which families come together and remember their loved ones, in order to celebrate their lives.

In addition to creating a special atmosphere, including the following activities planned:

Main event: 

The main Day of the Dead event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m., where children and families can enjoy face painting, food sampling from local restaurants and a center-wide processional with performances by folkloric dancers, stilt walkers, mariachis and costumed characters. Guests are encouraged to dress in theme.

The evening will also feature the New World Symphony “Dia de Los Muertos” mobile WALLCAST concert, by NWS Fellows and a prerecorded presentation from New World Center. See more details on this event here.
