Sweet Corn Fiesta at Yesteryear Village

Ready, set, shuck! That's the call for everyone in South Florida who loves sweet corn to show up at the annual Sweet Corn Fiesta:

  • When: Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Where: Yesteryear Village at South Florida Fairgrounds
  • Tickets: $5 for kids, $10 for adults; ride tickets $10-$15
  • Featured: Live music by the Krystal River Band and Andrew Morris Band

There will be an Amateur Corn Eating Contest (for age 18 and older), and a corn-shucking contest. For city folks who don't know, “shucking” is the technique to remove stubborn silk and pesky husks from the cob. 

In addition, visitors will entertained with live music, food and carnival rides.

For more information, visit southfloridafair.com or call 561-795-3110. Yesteryear Village is located on the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach, 1.5 miles west of the Florida Turnpike and 1 mile east of US 441 (State Road 7).

Getting there: Take Southern Boulevard to Sansbury’s Way (west of Turnpike). Turn right on Sansbury's Way. Enter Gate 3 to Archway Gate, past the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre. And be sure to leave your pets at home.

Highlights of Sweet Corn Fiesta:

  • Freshly harvested corn, grown locally and prepared hot and buttery, along with other summertime foods. Palm Beach County grows more sweet corn than any other county in the U.S. Local farmers cultivate more than 27,000 acres annually.
  • Children’s games, rides and a large corn maze
  • Green market, live music and contests in corn shucking and corn eating.

Sweet Corn Fiesta

The National Sweet Corn Eating Championship will be presented and sanctioned by the International Federation of Competitive Eaters, Inc. (IFOCE). During this grueling yet quick competition, Major League Eaters from across the country challenge themselves by consuming Florida sweet corn ears for 12 minutes. 

Parking is free.

Proceeds benefit agriculture education/advocacy programs and Glades area food banks.

Note: For those who can’t attend the Sweet Corn Fiesta, boxes of sweet corn will be available just outside of the entry gates for $25. One box holds about 48 ears. Attendees may purchase the same size box for $20.
