To honor the memory of the Rev. Dr. Luther King, Jr., here is a list of some of the activities planned to commemorate events taking place on this annual holiday for 2024.

Greater Palm Beach

Lake Worth
Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at 7 p.m.

Unbought & Unbossed” is a musical theater presentation .

Sally Hemmings & Shirley Chisholm

Event is free and open to the public, presented by Arts at St. Andrew's, the City of Lake Worth Beach Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee and the Lake Worth Interfaith Network.

Riviera Beach, 8 a.m.
Saturday, Jan. 13

Celebration includes bands, dance teams and local groups that will march in the 40th annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade at 10 a.m. Lineup starts at 8 a.m. and the route is from MLK Boulevard and Congress Avenue to Avenue O. After the parade, head over to Dan Calloway Park, 1420 W. 10th St., for a celebration from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be live music, vendors and activities for kids. Admission is free. West Palm Beach
Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Volunteer for “Stronger Together” MLK service events at 2024 MLK Day of Service. Events presented by Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and Palm Beach Atlantic University. Registration and acceptance required.

  • City of West Palm Beach – Park cleanup. Age Requirement: 16+ welcome, 5-15 must be accompanied with parent/guardian.
  • Tree of Life Resource Center (West Palm Beach) – Sorting donations to support anyone in need. Age Requirement: 18+ welcome.
  • MorseLife (West Palm Beach) – Socializing with senior residents. Age Requirement: 18+ welcome, 5-17 must be accompanied with parent/guardian.

Boca Raton, 10 a.m.

Festivities in Boca Raton include a Unity March at 10 a.m. from 200 Ruby Street to Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real. Participants include:

  • Boca Raton Community High School Band & Color Guard
  • FAU Jazz Ensemble

Boynton Beach, 8 a.m.
Monday, Jan. 15, 2024

The community is invited to participate in a Day of Service in the neighborhood cleanup, from 8 to 11 a.m. in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy. No RSVP required and no supplies needed. Coffee & donuts will be provided. Community service hours available.

Royal Palm Beach, 8:30 a.m.
Monday, Jan. 15, 2024

The Caribbean American for Community Involvement in Florida Inc. and the village of Royal Palm Beach will have the 22nd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Monday, Jan. 15, at the Royal Palm Beach Cultural Center, 151 Civic Center Way. A continental breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The program will begin at 10 a.m. Admission is free. Visit royalpalmbeachfl.gov for more details.

Martin Luther King Day of Remembrance will be held at the Wellington Community Center, 12150 Forest Hill Blvd. Event includes a light breakfast and fellowship, followed by a welcome message and comments with Wellington's Council, student presentations, and special guest speaker, retired U.S. Navy Captain and aviator, Winston E.
