Hispanic Heritage Festival in Pembroke Pines

 Hispanic people, food, and entertainment are part of the rich and diverse flavor of South Florida. Hispanic Heritage Month, which is September 15 through October 15, 2024, celebrates those contributions. The bonus to everyone is that there are lots of free events included in those celebrations.

Hispanic Heritage events for 2024 in Broward

History Fort Lauderdale

Viva Fort Lauderdale art exhibit featuring Hispanic artists and themes is September 19 through October 15 at History Fort Lauderdale, 954-463-4431,  231 SW Second Avenue, Fort Lauderdale.

The exhibit is free and a free  event is  6 p.m. September 19, register online

Regular fees for History Fort Lauderdale are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $7 for eligible students, free for military, members and ages 6 and younger

Parking fees are usually about $3 an hour.

Latin Fest, Oakland Park

Latin Fest is 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. September 20 with music, kids zone, food trucks and bars with adult beverages.

It's at Pastorius Park, 4000 N. Dixie Highway, Oakland Park. Parking is free. Kids need to be with an adult.

Latin Music Festival, free entry

Entry is free for Latin Music Festival 7 p.m. Saturday,  September 21 in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month. Festivities are at Miramar Amphitheater, 16801 Miramar Parkway 33027.  Entry is free. Parking is $10, or $12.51 with fees online.

Pembroke Pines

Food trucks with Hispanic fare, activities and entertainment are included at the Hispanic Heritage Festival 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. October 6 in Pembroke Pines.

Entry is free. Entertainment includes

Flanagan High School Jazz Band

The venue is City Center, 601 City Center Way, Pembroke Pines 33025

Broward Library

Broward library branches are offering a variety of Hispanic Heritage  events, including performances, Mexican Bingo and art workshops.

4 p.m. September 16 Mexican Bingo at the Davie branch library, register online

1 p.m. Friday, September 20  Mexican folk dance at the West Regional Library in Plantation, register online

Tunes ‘n Trucks

Tunes ‘n Trucks in Sunrise features a Hispanic Heritage edition Friday, October 18 and entry is free.

The event featuring a live band and food trucks is at Oscar Wind Park, 200 N. New River Circle 33326.

Food trucks are open about 6 p.m. and at 7 p.m. is the entertainment.

Las Olas Oceanside Park

Las Olas Oceanside Park in Fort Lauderdale is featuring its Hispanic vendors and Hispanic bands at The MKT  vendor market  weekends.

Events include

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m Saturdays September 21 – October 12 tastings of  Latin foods

12 p.m. – 3 p.m. Sundays September 22 – October 13 live performances featuring Latin bands

Las Olas Oceanside Park is at 3000 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale 33316. Parking at the Las Olas Beach Parking Garage, 200 Las Olas Circle, is usually $4 an hour.
