For the festival, Downtown Lake Worth Beach essentially is an “outdoor museum of original art and masterpiece reproductions,” according to the information at spf.lakeworthbeachfl.gov.
The annual festival is supported by the City of Lake Worth Beach and will be held along Lake Avenue and Lucerne Avenue, between Dixie Highway and Federal Highway
The tradition of street painting traced back to 16th century Italy when itinerant artists would use their chalks to transform pavement into a makeshift canvas, street painting has retained its appeal through the centuries.
As in ages past, crowds gather to watch as fine works of art emerge. The “paintings” last only until the next rain.
No parking in the area of the festival. Free parking is offered at Palm Beach State College, 4200 S. Congress Avenue, Lake Worth 33461.
Free shuttles are offered from Tri-Rail. Tri-Rail offers $5 fares all day weekends.
