Live on the Plaza Raspberry Pie

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is a busy place with plenty of indoor shows but its outdoor Live on the Plaza events are perfectly suited for a line-up of local artists during the somewhat cooler Miami months. Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomson Plaza for the Arts @ Ziff Ballet Opera House 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. 305-949-6722. Tickets: $20.

Raspberry Pie on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024

The five-member Orlando-based dance band brings their groovy, funky, tongue-in-cheek songs to Miami. The group has performed around the country at Comic Conventions in Atlanta, Seattle, Boston and here in Miami.

Abstract Citizen on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024

The four-member jazz group performs their blend of modern jazz, Peruvian folk and bluegrass. The band was founded by Miami native guitarist and composer Aaron Lebos. Lebos has performed with Miami's legendary jazz artist Nicole Henry as well as Miami's Spam All-Stars and NuDeco Ensemble. Abstract Citizen features vocalist Justine Garcia, bassist Marty Quinn and drummer Brahm Masla.

Performance by multi-instrumentalist, Argentine composer and producer Argentinian Jimena Fama whose music has been featured in the competition shows “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Vibes Live Festival: Jean Caze on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024

Haitian-American trumpeter and composer performs Afro-Caribbean instrumental music. He has performed with Mariah Carey, Al Jarreau, Arturo Sandoval, Michael Buble, Herbie Hancock and Aretha Franklin.

Vibes Live Festival: Low Ground on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024

A South Florida bluegrass trio whose name is an homage to their home state. Performing the folk and swing songs are bassist Amanda Accardi, fiddler Paddy King and guitarist Trevor Klutz who will play favorites including “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” and “Shady Grove.”

Vibes Live Festival: Diaspora Vibe Afrobeat Allstars on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024

Inspired by 1970s Nigerian bands, the band was founded by multi-instrumentalist and producer Gordon Duane-Myers and Rosie Gordon-Wallace, founder of the Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator. Their sounds blend funk, soul and jazz.

Island Grooves Fest: PinoGrillo on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025

The Cuban-American singer songwriter PinoGrillo performs with lead guitarist Danny Zapata, bassist Morris Ferguson, drummer Matt Davis, percussionist Yoel del Sol and trumpet player Patrick Araujo. Their performance blends music and storytelling incorporating various styles of roots and rhythm.

Island Grooves Fest: Victoria Blue on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025

The Miami Afro-Cuban Puerto Rican singer songwriter with a powerhouse voice blends pop, soul, R&B and Latin rhythms into her performances. She was named Outstanding Vocalist at the National Music Festival in New York.

Island Grooves Fest: Calixto Oviedo and the Cuban Jazz Train on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025

Calixto Oviedo brings his band to the plaza to perform music from his Latin Grammy-nominated album “La Rumba del Siglo” that blends Cuban music, jazz and blues.

Nearby street parking and enclosed outdoor parking for a fee.
