Entertainers, dancing & free books at Youth BookFest at library in Plantation & it’s free

Performances, activities and free books are are featured at a Broward Library BookFest for youngsters and their families.

The family BookFest event in 2026 is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Saturday, May 30, and entry is free. Books are distributed while supplies last. 

It's at West Regional Library, 8601 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation 33324. Parking is free.

  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Young At Art Museum Open Studio (READ Room). Hands-on art experiences for all ages.
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Musical Petting Zoo Adventure (The Hub). Explore instruments and create your own.
  • 10:30 a.m.: Miss Tracy Sings (Children’s Area).
  • 11 a.m.: Watercolor Workshop (Meeting Room, second floor).
  • 11 a.m.: Aunty Nadine and Friends presents “Donkey Seh” (Multipurpose Room).
  • 12 p.m.: Chinese Lion Dance (Multipurpose Room).
  • 12 p.m.: Origami Workshop (Teen Area).
  • 12:30 p.m.: Capoeira performance (Multipurpose Room).
  • 1 p.m.: Graffiti Workshop (Meeting Room, second floor).
  • 1:30 p.m.: Broward Center Spotlights youth ensemble (Children’s Area).
  • 1:30 p.m.: Stilt Dancing performance (Multipurpose Room).
  • 2:30 p.m.: Mad Science “Fire and Ice” show (Multipurpose Room).

Ongoing activities

  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Summer Learning Program registration and giveaways
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Face painting
  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Paint a fire truck with Plantation Fire Department
