Celebrating the Birth of Hip Hop event has $10 admission
2026 is all about America 250, celebrating the USA's 250th birthday and in honor of America250, Joseph Caleb Auditorium's Caleb Around Town "Black Birth of Music Series" is presenting "The Infancy of Hip Hop Throwdown - Celebrating the Birth of Hip Hop" on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Sandrell Rivers Theater. Admission is $10 and you can click here to purchase tickets.

The event will feature a high-energy dance performance by Zedric Bembry and his Live and In Color Dance Company featuring their innovation of extending drum breaks, use of two turntables showcasing the Hip Hop genre and the culture, featuring the music of DJ Grandmaster Flash, with their recording of "Rapper's Delight."
Joining them will also be Miami native poet/spoken word artist Rebecca "Phoenix" Vaughns, Cuban-American singer/songrwriter/DJ Sito Rocks and Havana Medina who will join Bembry and his dance troupe during the performance.
