Free Tertulia Nights: Our Miami Jazz Scene concert at FIU

Prepare for a live immersive experience blending art and music on July 9 from 6-9 p.m. during the free Tertulia Nights: Our Miami Jazz Scene concert at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at FIU. RSVP is required.

The four-member group eko vizion meusik, described as a group of "creative and forward-thinking musicians" comprised of bassist Dion Kerr, keyboardist Vaughn Henry, trumpet player Stephane Clement and drummer Miguel Russell.

They will blend futuristic textures, lush harmonies, improvisation, and field recordings with contemporary jazz, electronics, and classical guitar influences to perform music inspired by the museum's two current exhibitions "David C. Driskell & Friends: Creativity, Collaboration, and Friendship" and "Invitation to Openness."

The night will feature opening remarks by Dr. Valerie Patterson, Director of the African and African Diaspora Studies Program.

This program is supported by the Art Bridges Access for All program, the Green Family Foundation, and the FIU's Public Humanities Lab.
