Free science festival in Fort Lauderdale

Interactive fun and exciting displays and demonstrations are featured at a science festival in Fort Lauderdale.  Entry is free for the Science Festival and registration is required for some events.  In  2023 most free events at the festival are March 4, register online.

The Festival is for adults and kids. Venues in downtown Fort Lauderdale include Museum of Discovery and Science, 401 SW 2nd St., Fort Lauderdale 33312, 954-467-6637, and Esplanade Park, 400 SW 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale. Food and drinks are available for purchase from vendors.

The event emphasizes the value of STEM, which is acronym for science, technology, engineering and math.

7:30 p.m. March 1 free trivia for ages 21 and older 7:30pm at Gulf Stream Brewing, 1105 NE 13th Street, Fort Lauderdale

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. March 4 IMAX films and presentations at Museum of Discovery and Science including

10 am Dinosaurs of Antarctica

11 am Into America’s Wild

12 pm Dream Big

1 pm Astronaut: From Ocean to Orbit

10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. March 4 STEM presentations from professionals including

10:30 a.m. Sea Turtles

11:45 a.m. Climate Change 101 

1 p.m. Shark Sciences

1:45 p.m. Sustainability panel

2:30 p.m. Sprouting STEAM Storytime

3:15 p.m. Shark Sciences 

Parking is usually about $3 an hour.
