Krispy Kreme celebrates 87th birthday with dozen doughnuts for just 87 cents

Happy 87th Birthday, Krispy Kreme! That’s nearly nine decades of serving its hot and fresh Original Glazed doughnuts. (Can you fit 87 candles on a doughnut?)

The popular doughnut shop is celebrating its big day with a sweet deal for doughnut lovers.

Krispy Kreme was founded in 1937 by Vernon Rudolph, who began selling doughnuts to grocery stores.

Drawn by the irresistible scent of doughnut-making drifting into the streets, passersby asked if they could buy the hot, fresh doughnuts.

What did Rudolph do? He cut a hole in an outside wall and began selling Original Glazed doughnuts directly to customers on the sidewalk.

Nearing nine decades later, Krispy Kreme continues to evolve its menu with a wide range of delicious doughnut innovations — all while the Original Glazed doughnut remains just as delicious and iconic as ever.

87th Birthday Special

Krispy Kreme is offering an Original Glazed dozen for just 87 cents with the purchase of any dozen or 16-ct. Minis at regular price at participating locations. The offer is available in-shop and online.
