Patriotic festivities for July Fourth in South Florida include fireworks, parades and old-fashioned family fun. Many 4th of July events in Broward, Miami-Dade and greater Palm Beach are free. Lots feature free concerts. 

Usually July 4th fireworks and other events are July 4 in 2022, with occasional exceptions.  Weston is offering a fireworks display July 3 at Weston Regional Park.

Sunrise

  • Parade & Family Fun Day  9 a.m. – 12 p.m. July 4 Parade runs west on Sunset Strip from Northwest 12th Street to the park @ 6600 Sunset Strip. At the park, festivities include free refreshments, inflatable water slide & kids’ fun zone. The park features a playground and splashpad.

Fun for kids, photo ops with Uncle Sam & fireworks are featured in Tamarac.

Festivities are 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. July 4 @ Tamarac Sports complex, 9901 NW 77th Street, Tamarac

Entry is free, including entertainment from Cachet Band.

Fun for kids includes inflatables, face painting & art.

Food vendors are on site. Bring your own chairs.

Park at designated parking areas and use a free shuttle. Parking is at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW 88th Avenue and Tamarac community center, 8601 W. Commercial Boulevard. Shuttle runs 5:30 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. & after the fireworks.

Parade

Fort Lauderdale

Free July Fourth Spectacular in Fort Lauderdale features waterslides, fireworks & B-52s at Fort Lauderdale beach and Las Olas Oceanside Park from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. including family fun, live entertainment, water slides, face painting, old-fashioned games and fireworks at 8:45 p.m. Entry is free. Water Taxi is running direct routes to the event for reduced fares. July Fourth festivities are at  Las Olas Oceanside Park, 3000 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, and on Fort Lauderdale Beach off Las Olas Boulevard. Information is online.

Hollywood

Entertainment,  presentations and offshore fireworks show are 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. July 4 on Hollywood beach, 200 Johnson Street

With limited parking in that area, parking and free shuttles are offered from downtown parking garages. Standard parking rates apply. The shuttle pick up locations are:

  •  251 N. 19th Avenue
  • 251 S.  20th Avenue

Sun Shuttle  is an  electric public transportation option in Hollywood. An App requested ride is $1 per fare. A flag down ride is free. Flag down riders can and hop on and off along the route the driver is already going for the paid App requested ride. The Sun Shuttle will be operating from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on July 4th. Download the free “Ride Circuit” App from the App Store or Google Play. 

Hollywood Hollywood Beach & Hollywood parks are plastic-free & foam-free. No single-use plastic or foam is permitted. Please take home any reusable items you use. Information is online

The Wharf Fort Lauderdale

The Wharf Fort Lauderdale is an open-air dining and entertainment venue at 20 Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale 33301, and is featuring Independence Day festivities July 3, including

  • free Tito’s drink prior to 4 p.m. if you register online
  • mechanical bull

Kids and leashed pets are permitted prior to 6 p.m. After 6 p.m., the venue is for ages 21 and older.

Coral Springs

West Palm Beach

Fourth on Flagler festivities, including fireworks, are 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. July 4 on the waterfront, 100 N. Clematis Street, West Palm Beach.

Boca Raton

 Live entertainment, rides, food vendors, fireworks and fun for kids are included in festivities 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. July 4 at Spanish River Athletic Facility, 1000 NW Spanish River Boulevard, Boca Raton.  No personal fireworks, alcohol or pets. Bring your own refillable water bottles, blankets & chairs.

Entertainment by Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band playing  folk songs, fiddle music, bluegrass, ragtime, and others.

Free parking is offered at Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC) on Broken Sound Boulevard. A free shuttle service runs 5:15 p.m. -10:15 p.m., Information is online

Fireworks and July 4 Events in Miami-Dade

Ocean Drive

Fireworks and a symphony orchestra performance are featured 8:30 p.m. July 4, and entry is free.  Festivities are presented by Ocean Drive Association. Venue: Lummus Park, 599 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach. Entertainment features 50-piece Miami Beach Classical Music Festival Symphony Orchestra.

Homestead

Entry is free for festivities, fun & fireworks 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. July 4 at Miami Speedway, 1 Ralph Sanchez Speedway Blvd., Homestead 33035.
