Get in Gear free monthly bike ride in North Miami

Want to try a community bike ride? Then you might want to look into the City of North Miami's monthly Get in Gear event.

The free rides take place every second Saturday of the month. The next one is on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. This month's theme is “Pedal with the Pros” in partnership with Level Up. DJ Lucky C will be spinning and there will be games and free giveaways on a first come, first serve basis and child must be present. There is also a new meeting spot this month at the Griffing Community Center.

The route covers 10 miles roundtrip, around 90 minutes, and it varies, sometimes covering the western or eastern sides of the city. The ride will have police escorts, and anyone younger than 16 will be required to wear a helmet.  Bicycles are not provided.

The ride is part of an ACHIEVE wellness initiative, in partnership with the North Miami Parks and Recreation Department and the North Miami Police Department. For more information, call 305-895-9815 or click here
