Free Zarzuela Delights performances around Miami-Dade

La Zarzuela, Inc. is hosting a couple of Zarzuela Delights performances in May at two venues in Miami-Dade celebrating the traditional Spanish performance art that incorporates music, dance and theater.

The performances are happening on two consecutive Saturdays, May 23 at 8 p.m. at Miami Beach Community Church, 1620 Drexel Ave. and May 30 at 1 p.m. at the the Main Library, 101 W. Flagler St. in the Arva Parks McCabe Auditorium. Admission is free, scan the QR code below or click the link above to reserve tickets.

There you can watch as performers present Zarzuela favorites and musical surprises, incorporating state of the art techniques and mapping to modernize this historic Spanish art of performing.

Zarzuela is an essential part of the common heritage of Spain and Latin America. It flourished on both sides of the Atlantic. Zarzuela became popular in the Americas, as Spanish companies would travel and present productions in Havana, Ciudad de Mexico, Cartagena, or Caracas.
