Gallons of recycled exterior latex paint in a selection of hues are offered free to eligible Broward residents in towns participating in the program
Residents are eligible to request free outdoor paint if they reside in any of the various municipalities that participate in the program. If you're interested in scoring free paint, phone the public works department in your town to determine if they participate and how to receive the free paint. Paint is distributed when it's available.
Hollywood public works department, 954-967-4526, and Department of Environmental and Engineering Services in Margate, 954-972-0828, are among the participants in recycled paint programs.
Others participants include unincoporated Broward, North Lauderdale, Pembroke Park and West Park.
The free paint is produced by a paint manufacturer who reblends usable supplies from among the leftovers and excess cans turned in to Broward’s household hazardous waste program. For information, dial 954-357-9678 or 954-765-4999
The recycled latex exterior paint is offered in a selection of hues: off-white, beige, terracotta, gray and turquoise.
