Arsht Center’s ‘Live on the Plaza’ outdoor music showcase

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is a busy place with plenty of indoor shows but its outdoor Live on the Plaza events are perfectly suited for a line-up of local artists during the somewhat cooler Miami months. Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomson Plaza for the Arts @ Ziff Ballet Opera House 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. 305-949-6722. Tickets: $20.

Braidsman (@braidsman), also known as Basilio Marquez Jr. was born in 1990 into a family of prestigious musicians in Las Tunas, Cuba. His father, Basilio Marquez, played trumpet in Chucho Valdés’ pioneering Latin jazz band Irakere. This is his traditional Cuban music project.

Gold Dust Lounge (@golddustlounge) is the brainchild of Miami guitarist-composer Russell Mofsky who performs everything from surfy jazz to cool lounge noir and punk meets Americana — with his quartet featuring guitar, violin, bass and drums.
