Free events at MOCA in North Miami

The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami is the place to check out groundbreaking and thought-provoking exhibitions and catch live jazz acts on the last Friday of the month during the free Jazz at MOCA. However, it's also where to go for other free events.

September:

MOCA Makers: Light & Language on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 1-3 p.m. workshop led by artist Dimitry Saïd Chamy where participants create a digital alphabet using lightboxes and mixed materials. $8 fee, click here to RSVP.

Summer Film Series Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 7-10 p.m. for a screening of the cult classic 1982 film “Bladerunner” starring Harrison Ford and Daryl Hannah. Arrive early before the 8 p.m. screening and enjoy the museum. $10 fee.

Free Merengue Class on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 5:30-6:30 p.m. taught by Alejandra Fontal of Miami Dance Center, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Jazz at MOCA on Friday, Sept. 27 a 8 p.m. with featured artist David Lucca y Los Clasicos. Free.
