The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami is the place to check out groundbreaking and thought-provoking exhibitions and catch live jazz acts on the last Friday of the month during the free Jazz at MOCA. However, it's also where to go for other free and cheap events.

Legacy Series: Language as Archive
1-3 p.m., $10 per person
Poet and interdisciplinary artist Arsimmer McCoy guides a poetry workshop where participants will examine her poem “Miami’s Atlas” and later write their own poems reflecting on the work to be compiled into a community zine. RSVP here.
Friday, April 27
7 p.m. poetry with participants from O, Miam Poetry Festival followed by Jazz at MOCA with the New World Symphony at 8 p.m.
