Free events at MOCA in North Miami

The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami is the place to check out groundbreaking and thought-provoking exhibitions and catch live jazz acts on the last Friday of the month during the free Jazz at MOCA. However, it's also where to go for other free events.

April & May 2024 Schedule:

Friday, April 26 from 7-10 p.m.
Jazz at MOCA featuring New World Symphony Mobile WALLCAST
and Visual Jazz by MOCA Teen Art Force. Through this partnership, MOCA Teen Art Force students worked collaboratively with New World Symphony Fellows to develop visual art accompaniments that will be featured during the performance.

Friday, May 10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Conversations at MOCA – Creating Dangerously, in Dangerous Times
Conversation featuring internationally acclaimed, Haitian American novelist, short story writer, and MacArthur Genius Fellow, Edwidge Danticat, alongside Haiti-born, Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist, Manuel Mathieu. His works are currently on view at MOCA in two inter-connected exhibitions: World Discovered Under Other Skies and Dwelling on the Invisible, exploring themes similarly found in Danticat’s work, such as migration and displacement, political upheaval, and the complex relationships of family, community, and the self.
