Free Broward ArtLit library festival includes entertainment

Entry is free for ArtLit,  a popular family event featuring art activities and performances.

ArtLit in 2026 is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 10, in Pembroke Pines.

The event emphasizes art and literature. This year's festival will include creative and artistic interactive experiences related to nature and The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson and the youth companion book The First Blade of Sweetgrass by Suzanne Greenlaw and Gabriel Frey.

ArtLit 2026 will include:

  • Performances.
  • Planting workshops.
  • Crafts.
  • Book discussions.
  • Giveaways.
  • Photo ops.
  • Free face painting.
  • Story times.
  • Food vendors.

The venue is the Southwest Regional Library, 16835 Sheridan St., Pembroke Pines, FL 33311.

Admission is free but registration is requested here.

One Book One Broward 

ArtLit is part of the Broward County Libraries annual One Book One Broward (OBOB) project. Everyone is invited to join the event from January 1 to February 28, 2026, to read the same book. This year’s theme is “Our Nature: How Our Physical Environment Can Lead Us to Seek Hope, Courage, and Connection.” It will be will be guided by the storytelling in the novel “The Seed Keeper” by Diane Wilson and the youth companion book “The First Blade of Sweetgrass” by Suzanne Greenlaw and Gabriel Frey.

Activities will include beachside, boardwalk, and trailhead book discussions, presentations, programs and workshops, plus the ArtLit festival. Find out more about how to participate here.
