Salsa Fest in Hollywood

The lively spicy sounds of Salsa are featured at Salsa Fest 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at ArtsPark on Hollywood Boulevard and Federal Highway. Entry is free and the event includes live entertainers. The featured performer is Melina Almodovar.

Davie Jazz Festival 

 Davie Jazz Festival is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Bergeron Rodeo. Entry is free. VIP tickets are $90.56 with tax and fee. Performers include Bop Shop Brass,  Dominique Hammonds, JJ Sansaverino, Vivian Sessoms, and others.   Food and drinks are offered for sale. Art and artisan vendors offer wares for purchase. 

BBQ Street Party in Dania 

The BBQ street party is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 11, with free entry, live bands and a kids' zone. The event is outside Dania Beach City Hall, 100 W. Dania Beach Boulevard. Pets are permitted and parking is free. 

Touch A Truck in North Broward 

Touch a Truck in Coral Springs is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 10150 NW 29th Street. Entry is free.

Junior Maker Fest 

11 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at South Regional Broward College Library, 7300 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines 33024,

The event includes stations for building and tinkering for ages 5 and older. Among the activities are:

  • Epic Marble Runs: Design gravity-defying tracks and twisting sculptures using Q-Ba-Maze interlocking cubes.
  • Gravity-Busting Towers: Test your balance and precision with KEVA Planks—no glue, just pure engineering.
  • Snap into Electronics: Power up your curiosity with Snap Circuits to see how gadgets really work.
  • Cardboard Creations: If you can dream it, you can build it. Explore open-ended crafting with paper, cardboard, and recycled materials.
  • Slime: practice basic chemistry by creating slime. Slime is a homemade toy typically created using a combination of water, glue, and borax.
  • Other  STEAM Stations include: robotics with Snapology, balloon powered cars, pinwheels and origami, 3D printing.

Duck Fest Derby

Duck Fest Derby is 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Esplanade Park, 400 SW 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale. The event includes entertainment and games, and the opportunities to participate in the Duck Derby with floating rubber ducks on the New River for the opportunity to earn prizes.

Pompano Beach Jazz Festival

The Pompano Beach Jazz Festival featuring a variety of local and internationally renowned artists is 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19, at the Pompano Beach Fisher Family Pier, 222 N. Pompano Beach Boulevard, Pompano Beach 33062.

Entry is free. Fees apply for parking. 

World Art Day in Sunrise

World Art Day in Sunrise is  p.m. to 8 p.m. April 18 with free entry and free activities. 

 The event includes: 

  • art exhibit 
  • Paint & Sip for adults
  • Youth Art Zone with hands-on projects 
  • entertainment 

The venue is Village Art Plaza, which is at 2260 NW 68th Ave., Sunrise 33313.

Earth Day events with free entry

  • Earth Day festival in Sunrise is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, and entry is free. The event includes a kids' area, performances and educational displays. The venue is Sunrise Amphitheater, 10610 West Oakland Park Boulevard 33351.  Parking and entry are free.
  • Earth Day The Weston Way is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Library Park, 4255 Bonaventure Boulevard, Weston 33332.
  • Dania Beach is offering a beach litter pick-up event 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, April 20, at Ocean Park Beach, Dania Beach Pier, 300 N. Beach Road, Dania. Volunteers receive free parking, T-shirts, and refreshments. Entertainment is included in the festivities. 
  • Earth Day festival in Plantation is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Seminole Park, 6600 SW 16th Street, Plantation 33317.
