Tax-free Shopping Event in Florida for Outdoor Recreation

Florida shoppers rev up your wallets for a tax-free shopping spree.  Eligible outdoor & recreation items and entry to eligible venues & events are exempt from  usual Florida state sales tax. You'll save at least 6 percent on qualifying purchases.

For some items, such as sunglasses, a portion of the purchase price is exempt from sales tax. For sunglasses, up to $100 of the total price is exempt from sales tax.

Florida's tax-free Freedom Week event is July 1 – July 7. Examples of items & prices except from Florida state sales tax include:

  • $500 for kayaks
  • $300 for paddleboards & surf boards
  • $200 for tents
  • $15 for sunscreen & insect repellent
  • $30  for water bottles
  • $50 for portable hammocks
  • sporting events
  • $250 for bicycles
