On the Move

The Wolfsonian is looking for input. Experience an evening of story gathering, sharing, and listening during “On the Move,” Friday, Nov. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. at 1001 Washington Ave., Miami Beach.

This is your opportunity to help the staff beta-test the new digital interactive feature, which uses short oral histories to map the migration stories of community members in South Florida.

Throughout the night, you will also have the chance to contribute to a growing archive of oral histories by sharing your own migration story in the Bridge Tender House-turned-oral history booth.

Afterwards, stop in the Design Store for happy hour specials and a talk led by Christopher Norwood, founder of Hampton Art Lovers. Norwood will reveal on how visual artists of the modern age represented the Great Migration, a mass movement by Black people from South to North in the first half of the 20th century.

This event is made possible through a partnership with Hampton Art Lovers and The Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab. See more event information HERE. And be sure to register to attend this free On The Move event.
