Head to the Sandrell Rivers Theater for the The Moth – Miami StorySLAM. The event is usually every other month, but the schedule varies.
Each month has a theme and folks have to prepare a five-minute tale on that theme.
Tickets are $15 and available online one week in advance. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and StorySLAM begins at 7 p.m. Cocktails available at the bar. Sandrell Rivers Theater is located at 6103 NW Seventh Ave.
Upcoming events:
- April 18: The theme is “Green,” where participants prepare a five-minute tale involving verdant fields, blades of grass, tree-huggers or leprechauns.
- May 2: “Snooping” is the theme and participants are tasked with telling a five-minute tale about being nosy with themes of eavesdropping, meddling and sneaking around.
- June 26: “Guts” will feature stories about boldness, courage and the peaks and valleys of a daring spirit.
