Want to try a community bike ride? Then you might want to look into the City of North Miami's monthly Get in Gear event.
The free rides take place every second Saturday of the month. The next one is on Saturday, Nov. 9.
On ride day, registration begins at 8 a.m., and the riders head out at 8:30 a.m. sharp from MOCA Plaza, 770 NE 125th St., in downtown North Miami.
The route covers 10 miles roundtrip, around 90 minutes, and it varies, sometimes covering the western or eastern sides of the city. The ride will have police escorts, and anyone younger than 16 will be required to wear a helmet. Bicycles are not provided.
The ride is part of an ACHIEVE wellness initiative, in partnership with the North Miami Parks and Recreation Department and the North Miami Police Department. For more information, call 305-895-9815 or click here.
