Science Stories for age 5+, Boca Raton

The Children's Science Explorium in Sugar Sand Park is a free hands-on science center designed for children 5-12 years of age and their caregivers. It offers fascinating and interactive exhibits, programs that bring the physical sciences to life.

Admission is free, however a suggested donation of $5 per person is appreciated. The  Sugar Sand Park Carousel is temporarily closed. Some activities require fees to cover the cost of materials or are being presented by outside hosts.

Following is a sample of activities available at no cost.

Weekend Science Demos for age 7 and up:

Join the Explorium staff as they dig a little deeper into some exciting scientific principles that will surely spark your curiosity during these FREE 30 minute, interactive, demonstrations. Engaging explanations combined with audience participation create an enjoyable learning experience for everyone. Visit this website for updates and details.

In addition to a permanent exhibit collection, the Explorium also offers visitors a variety of traveling exhibits each year. From rockets to molecules, the museum engages and teaches children about the fantastic world of science.

Sensory-Friendly Saturdays (ages 5+), 9-10 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month: Join the fun to explore the museum in a sensory-modified setting with sound and lighting adjustments. Call 561-347-3906 for additional information.

Science Stories (ages 5+), every Saturday at 11:30 a.m.: Stop by to hear some favorite science inspired stories. Play and learn as with the use of props and engagements to bring stories to life.
