Ocean protection advocates are participating in a free oceanside event in Hollywood for World Oceans Day.
The World Oceans Day event in Broward is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, and entry is free. Parking fees apply.
The event includes live music, environmental education, and exhibits.
The venue is Marine Environmental Education facility, a partnership of Broward Parks and Recreation and Nova Southeastern University. The resident rescued sea turtle at the facility is especially popular.
The building and exhibits are at Hollywood North Beach Park, 4414 N. Surf Road, Hollywood 33019.
Parking is usually $3 an hour Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays and $4 an hour Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
