Interactive story for kids with Florida Grand Opera
Florida Grand Opera participates in an interactive story for kids 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, including an aria performance and art project at the branch library in Miramar. Register online. The event is designed for youth ages 8 and younger.
The featured story is "Opera Cat." The library is at 2050 Civic Center Place, 33025
Ukulele jams at two libraries
The Florida Ukulele Network hosts a ukulele jam at 10:30 a.m. the fourth Thursday of most months at West Regional Library, 8601 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation 33324. The event is presented by FUN Florida Ukulele Network. Play along and sing along if you'd like. For ages 15 and older.
The group also hosts a ukulele jam and singalong, play-along event at 6 p.m. the second Monday of th emonth at the sBroward Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. Parking fees are usually about $3 to $4 an hour. For ages 15 and older.
