Positively Africa presentation in Fort Lauderdale

Library branches in Broward occasionally feature free entertaining events including live performances.

Some events are for kids and families. Others are aimed at adults. At lots of library branches, parking is free.

Examples of shows and activities include:

Trains on display

Model trains run through villages representing 1950s, 1960s and other decades at the Southwest Regional Library, 954-357-6580, 16835 Sheridan Street, Pembroke Pines 33331. The display is featured to January 6 at the library. It is organized by The Florida Citrus Train Society. 

Local Authors Book Fair

The book fair is 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, November 2 at Broward Main Library, 954-357-7444, 100 S. Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Entry is free. Register online.

The book fair includes workshops for self-publishing, editing and writing, and presentations from industry professionals. Parking in the region is usually $3 an hour.  Parking fees & information are on the Fort Lauderdale website.
