Downtown Day of the Dead festival

The first Downtown Day of the Dead celebration will take place Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale.

The free event will be 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., with the Day of the Dead stroll at 6 p.m. at Esplanade Park on the Riverwalk. The festival and parade are family-friendly, followed by a block party for adults.

This new festival will continue the work of the popular Florida Day of the Dead Celebration, and the role of Puppet Network, to share knowledge of the Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos.

Here is the schedule:

  • Street festival will be from 3 to 8 p.m. This event will include food, drink, face-painting, crafts and more.
  • Day of the Deal Stroll, 6 p.m. The parade of costumed characters will begin at Esplanade Park and ends along the New River.
  • 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Day of the Dead Block Party in front of Revolution Live, on Southwest Third Avenue.
