The Iron Giant movie, Coral Gables

Coral Gables Museum welcomes you to “Family Day on Aragon” on the second Saturday of each month, with free admission, live music and special activities.

Upcoming event is on Sat., Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Alliance Francaise Little Prince Book Activity for Children

Bring the timeless magic of The Little Prince to life. This unique book lets children and families read, color, and watch their artwork transform into an animated film. Enjoy interactive fun with 16 illustrations to color and an
8-minute animated film created with the free BlinkBook app.

1:30-2:30 p.m. Heritage Wall by Connecting Mind

A hands-on arts and storytelling experience celebrating creativity, culture, and connection led by Laura Speiran of Connecting Minds Miami. Participants will join the Leaves of Culture workshop — inspired by messages of peace and friendship created by young people in Northern Ireland. Each child will select one of these symbolic leaves, reflect on its message, and paint their own wooden leaf with a personal drawing or message in response that will form part of a six-foot Unity Tree inside the Museum. Also, explore Mind Gallery AI, an interactive storytelling platform and transform your reflection into AI-generated art and short stories.

The event also highlights the inspiring work of Eco Planet Earth, represented by Nalisa Saati (Program Director) and Tomeka Napper (Board Member).

1-3 p.m.: Artmaking by TMP

TMP is a teen-led volunteer and education initiative designed to engage youth in the civic arts of architecture, urban design, and visual arts while fostering leadership skills and community involvement.

4 p.m.: Florida International University Piano Area Students in Concert

Classical music performed by Florida International University Piano Area students, featuring works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Schumann, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Kapustin, and Reinecke.

Also, go across the street to the Coral Gables Art Cinema at 11 a.m. to watch the animated film “Finding Nemo.” Click here to read about the film.
