Earth Day event in Hollywood

Happy Earth Day Earthlings. With an emphasis on protecting the planet, South Florida features a variety of fun Earth Day fests and other events focusing on the environment in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties.

Many events are free and include entertainment and fun for the whole family. Some feature free plants and other free earth-friendly items, while supplies are available.

Earth Day is April 22, but lots of  activities take place on other days.

Earth Day 2026 Events in Broward 

Featured event

Hollywood

Sierra Earth Day event is 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8 with free entry. The event includes nature hikes, kayaking, food trucks, speakers, youth art projects from plastic waste, dand exhibitors from environmental organizations. 

The nature center is at 751 Sheridan Street, Hollywood 33019.

Sunrise

The Earth Day festival in Sunrise is 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18 with entertainment, eco-art projects, and games with prizes. A workshop at 12:15 p.m. is about protecting butterflies. Entry is free.

Food, drinks and other vendor items are offered for purchase. Bring reusable water bottles and use water stations at the festival.  Residents of parts of Broward who receive water from Sunrise utilities are eligible for a free tree. 

The festival is at Sunrise Amphitheater, 10610 W Oakland Park Boulevard 33351.  Parking is free. 

Earth Day 2025 Events in South Florida

 

Hollywood

Ocean Music Festival at the Hollywood Bandshell includes regional bands, free yoga and educational exhibits from environmental protection organizations.

The festival in 2025 is 2 p.m. –  6 p.m. Saturday, April and entry is free. 

Coral Springs

EarthFest for Earth Day  and Arbor Day is 9 a.m. – noon Saturday, April  at Sawgrass Nature Center, 3000 Sportsplex Drive 33065. EarthFest includes raffles for a rain barrel and other prizes, nature exhibits, and vendors.

Plantation

Earth Day in Plantation is 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, April  with free entry. The Earth Day fest includes educational booths, kids activity area, and food trucks. Live entertainment with Rock The Park is the same day at the same park.  Earth Day is at Pine Island Park, 320 S. Pine Island Road, Plantation 33324.

 

 

Weston

Free Earth Day event in Weston  is 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, April, at Library Park, 4255 Bonaventure Blvd., Weston 33332, with activities, educational booths, and DJ entertainment.

Fort Lauderdale

8 a.m. – 11 a.m. April  beach litter pick up, 300 S. Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale 33304

Hollywood

Marine Environmental Education (MEEC), 4414 N. Surf Road, Hollywood 33019, is featuring an  Earth Day  event 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, April  on the beach. The event includes a beach cleanup. Other festivities include presentations and  educational programs.

Usually the weekend and holiday rate for beach parking is $4 an hour and $3 an hour Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Fort Lauderdale

Earth Day event at Esplanade Park on Riverwalk in Fort Lauderdale is 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, April with free entry.

The event includes a kids zone, information about diy food plants, entertainment, information on sustainable practices, food trucks and vendors.

Ikea in Sunrise

Decorate a reusable shopping bag project for kids 12 and younger 3 p.m. Saturday, April  register online.

Dania Beach

Dania Beach is offering a beach litter pick-up event 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Monday, April at Ocean Park Beach,  Dania Beach Pier, 300 N. Beach Road, Dania. Volunteers receive free parking, T-shirts, and refreshments. Face painting and entertainment are featured.

Fort Lauderdale

Earth Day Art Exhibit 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Thursday, April  at Galleria Fort Lauderdale, 2414 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale 33304. The event includes free drinks, a performance, and dozens of works of art. Register online.

Coral Springs
