Gospel Shabbat
Entry is free for Gospel Shabbat at Temple Beth El, 7 p.m. February 3, 2815 N. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach 33407. Includes Jubilate Vocal Ensemble and former Miami Heat player Pastor Billy Thompson.
The Square in West Palm
8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. February 4 festivities include live music, vendors and workshops at The Square, a shopping, restaurant and entertainment hub, 700 S. Rosemary Avenue, West Palm Beach. Registration is requested for activities and events. Information is online. Parking at The Square usually ranges from free to $12.
Entertainment includes 10:45 a.m. Whole Vibes, 12 p.m. Natural Movers Foundation dance, Educator Workshop with Brian Knowles “Greatness of Africa” 1 p.m. and others.
Parade & entertainment
Black History Parade is 12 p.m. February 4, route is Pompey Park, 1101 NW Second Street, Delray Beach, south on Northwest 10th Ave to Atlantic Avenue, east to the plaza at Southwest Fifth Avenue. Festivities after the parade include live music featuring J-Sharp and Mad Dads Choir. Free event. 561-862-3072, information is online.
African American Architects
Discussion emphasizing black architects and artist/engineers with photos and videos 10:30 a.m. at the Downtown Library, 400 NW Second Avenue, Boca Raton. Register online. Free entry.
Film Festival
African-American Film Festival is 6:30 p.m. February 9, $12, includes film, panel discussion and question-and-answers. Kravis Center, 701 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach. Information is at 561-832-7469 & online.

Family Storytime for Black History Month
10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. February 22, designed for families with kids to age 5, with limited seating.
Registration is offered at 9:30 a.m. in person.
African Drumming with Abasi
3 p.m. February 18 is a program for kids in grades 3, 4 and 5 which features Abasi Hanif, a poet and African percussionist. Seating is limited, with registration offered at 2:30 p.m. in person.

Black Youth Awareness Art Festival
The festival is 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. February 17 with dance, poetry and art. Artwork and performances include local youth participants. It's at Spady Heritage Museum, 170 NW Fifth Avenue, Delray Beach 33444.
