African Dance and Arts Summer Festival, Miami

Here's a chance for children from 6. months to age 17 to experience the energy and rhythm of traditional African dance workshops and activities. General admission, browsing and some activities are free, while others have a $10 fee to participate; no charge for spectators; donations accepted.

All attendees will be able to browse through unique arts and crafts vendors, and indulge in African cuisine. Vendor prices vary.

Demonstrations, activities and workshops include the following:

  • Baby yoga: 10-10:30 a.m.
  • Kids yoga: 11-11:45 a.m.
  • Tribal face paint: Noon to 4 p.m.
  • Capoeira: 1-2 p.m.
  • Arts & crafts: 1:15 to 4 p.m.
  • Music museum: 2:30-3:30 p.m.
  • Djembe drum circle: 3-4:30 p.m.
  • West African dance: 2:15-3:15 p.m.
  • Community gathering: 4:30-5 p.m.
