$5 Classic Movies celebrates Thanksgiving Weekend with LIFE WITH FATHER (1947), starring William Powell, Irene Dunne, and Elizabeth Taylor. The film received four Academy Award nominations, including Best Actor in a Leading Role (William Powell). Max Steiner’s score won the Golden Globe. The feature film will be accompanied by the animated short HOLLYWOOD STEPS OUT (1941).

HIS GIRL FRIDAY (1940) stars Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell, and Ralph Bellamy. Directed by Howard Hawks and based on the stage play, a remake of the 1931 comedy “The Front Page.” The feature film will be accompanied by a trailer for the 1937 serial ZORRO RIDES AGAIN, the Max and Dave Fleischer cartoon BY THE LIGHT OF THE SILVERY MOON (1931), and the 1935 cartoon SINBAD THE SAILOR.

THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (1960) was directed by the legendary Roger Corman (and shot in two days). This is the original, with Jonathan Haze, Jackie Joseph, and a young Jack Nicholson. The feature film will be accompanied by Chapter 5 of THE PHANTOM CREEPS, the 1939 serial starring Bela Lugosi, along with the Tom and Jerry cartoon WOT A NIGHT! (1931). In addition, the program features trailers for several horror films, including TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE.
