Entertainment & free books at children’s BookFest at library in Plantation

Performances, activities and opportunities to receive a free book while supplies last are featured at a Broward Library BookFest for youngsters and their families.

The family BookFest event in 2025 is 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Saturday,  May 31,  and entry is free.

The festival includes

  • 11 a.m. watercolor workshop for teens and adults
  • Paint the Plantation fire truck outdoors
  • Young At Art Museum open studio: Hands-on art experiences inspired by Yayoi Kusama and her love of dots
  • Musical Petting Zoo and a DIY instrument while supplies last
  • Aunty Nadine and Friends present Donkey Seh: a Jamaican Folklore performance with puppets and props in song and dance
  • USVI Mocko Jumbie Stilt Dancers 
  • food trucks
  • Fire and Ice science experiments
  • Ms. Tracy Sings
  • face painting
  • Chinese Lion Dance Team presented by the Coral Springs Chinese Cultural Association
  • Capo Capoeira features the Brazilian art of capoeira, which incorporates kicks, fluid movements, acrobatics and music
