Broward Veterans Day events & deals

Veterans Day includes events and deals in Broward that offer an opportunity to display appreciation for those in the armed forces.

Usually events are free. Occasionally, reservations may be required. Some events and deals are open to the public, and others are for veterans and military.

Veterans Day is November 11 every year and honors the veterans of all who have served in the U.S. military. The day was chosen in remembrance of Nov. 11, 1918, when an armistice was reached in World War I.

Veterans are also being honored with events in Miami-Dade County, events in Palm Beach County and a variety of free meals and other deals around the nation.

Veterans Day events in 2024 in Broward

Fort Lauderdale

Entertainment, food vendors and games at a free event for veterans and their families and others at VetFest 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. November 2 in Fort Lauderdale.

Free parking is available at the adjacent regional library. Information about the event is online.

Hollywood

Veterans Day barbecue and festivities for Hollywood veterans and active-duty forces at TY Park, 3300 N. Park Road, Hollywood 33020. The event is for residents of Hollywood. Military ID is required. RSVP at 954-921-3404, event is limited.

Sunrise

Feeding South Florida and partners are offering veterans a free lunch with entertainment 11 a.m. November 11 at Amerant Bank Arena, 1 Panther Parkway, in Sunrise.

The event is for veterans who RSVP online by November 9 and a guest.

Butterfly World

Butterfly World offers military and veterans 25% off for everyone in the party. There is also a printable $5 off coupon online. 954-977-4434. Butterfly World is in Tradewinds Park, South, at 3600 W. Sample Road, Coconut Creek. Weekend park entry fees are $3 per vehicle for up to eight people. For vehicles with at least 9 people, the vehicle entry fee is $20.

Xtreme Action Park

Xtreme Action Park offers 10% discounts for veterans and military upon request at the venue, 954-491-6265, 5300 Powerline Road, Fort Lauderdale 33309.

Parking is free.

Flamingo Gardens

Veterans Day deal at Flamingo Gardens offers free entry for veterans on Veterans Day and 20% discount for family.

Other days veterans, military and their families receive a 20% discount. Flamingo Gardens is at 3750 S. Flamingo Road, Davie 33330. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with entry required by 4 p.m. and parking is free.

NSU Art Museum

NSU Art Museum, 1 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, offers discounted rates of $8 for military personnel and veterans.
