The “905” on the 2023 shirt for sale represents the badge number of fallen Boynton Beach Police Officer Dennis Castro. This year’s tournament is dedicated to the officer, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Castro family.
There will be:
- music
- chili tasting
- fresh made BBQ
- axe throwing
- a fire hose for kids to use with a firefighter
- a variety of vendors
Approximately 40 boats are registered in the tournament and will compete to win more than $10,000 in cash prizes in the following categories: Kingfish, Dolphin Wahoo (KDW), Mystery Fish, Lady Angler and Jr. Angler. In addition, ten neighboring Fire Departments, including Greenacres Fire Rescue, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and Boca Raton Fire Rescue will compete against BBFRD for the title of Best Chili.
