National Night Out events promote partnership between police and public
For family excursions, National Night Out events in South Florida often include activities, police and firefighter demonstrations and entertainment. The events are free.
Some events offer lots to do. The Plantation event includes bounce houses, rock wall and petting zoo.

6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, at the Sunrise Public Safety Building, 10440 W. Oakland Park Boulevard, Sunrise. The National Night Out event includes free refreshments and0 entertainment. Other features include Police demonstrations and public safety equipment displays are featured. McGruff the Crime Dog is likely to attend.
Margate
Safety information, entertainment, and games are featured at National Night Out in Margate. The event is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 4 and entry is free. It's at the sports complex, 1695 Banks Road.
Cooper City
National Night Out and Back to School Bash is 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Friday, August 7 and entry is free.
