Munir Hossn: AfroBrazilian Jazz Trio + Elas
Date: Thursday, November 17, 2022, 8 p.m.

Last year, the buzz surrounding Brazilian musician Munir Hossn broke through the pandemic malaise. It felt like all the jazz and music-heads were talking about an iconoclastic musical genius living right in our midst in North Beach. And suddenly, he was popping up everywhere – featured in sets by innovative jazz and international artists, at festivals, bringing his unique style to our stage. Now we feature a full evening with Mr. Hossn, who promises a journey through his sensory and intellectual musical landscape, as he takes over the November edition of the monthly North Beach Social – starting with some unreleased songs played solo, leading into some AfroBrazilian Jazz by his trio, and closing with his ’supergroup’ Elas.

ReShape: An evening of electronic music
Date: Saturday, November 19, 2022, 5:00 p.m.

A free evening of electronic music, ReShape is launched in partnership with the European series Les Siestes Electroniques (Toulouse, France) SeaNaps (Leipzig, Germany). This premier US spin-off in Miami Beach features two German experimental artists (Anna Schimkat and Molto), two French electro artists (Simo Cell and Crystallmess), and two Miami-based musicians (Richie Hell with live band, and Charlie Soul Clap). Immersive visuals within the Bandshell and adjacent park will amplify the experience.

Locos Por Juana: Fiesta Navideña
Date: Thursday, December 15, 2022, 8 p.m.

A holiday party North Beach Social, featuring the iconic ambassadors of the Miami sound!

Locos por Juana’s sound is a unique fusion of reggae, funk, and rock, anchored with Colombian rhythms like cumbia and champeta, mapale and chande. Add a dose of dancehall, dub, and hip-hop for swagger. The Grammy-nominated band, featuring Itawe Correa as its charismatic lead vocalist, talented guitarist Mark Kondrat, innovative drummer Javier Delgado, and electrifying bass player David Pransky, are joined by some of this city’s best horn players, guest vocalists and percussionists. Nominated for a Grammy and Latin Grammys among other accolades, they have toured the world, and collaborated with a who’s who in Latin, hip-hop and world music.

And now it’s the holidays, and the end of a long year. What better way to see it off, than a classic Fiesta Navideña with one of our favorite Miami-based groups of all time?
