Plein air painting is merely the act of painting outdoors, in nature. This, of course, is in contrast to painting inside, in a studio. Many claim it is the best way for an artist to learn how to see and experience the true colors of nature, and also to be able to capture the mood and feeling of a particular place or setting.
If you’d like to learn if the tools and techniques differ, then here is an opportunity to do just that.
Saturday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Comfortable clothing is recommended for this creative outdoor experience.
Join artist and FIU graduate Wendy Ordóñez Hurtado and David Chang, professor of painting, for an introduction to landscape painting and an outdoors art activity.
This event is free and open to the public. Donations accepted.
