Magic City Opera presents its free Opera in the Park, a concert of opera and Broadway hits, at the North Beach Bandshell. The concerts is presented in conjunction with the Rhythm Foundation. The Opera Carnival will be Sunday, July 22, at 7 p.m.
Featuring professional operatic singers from the South Florida area, the show will feature music from the best of Opera and Broadway, including music from inspired by Shakespeare, as well as dramatic readings of excerpts from Shakespeare plays and a special surprise performance.
Bring blankets, beach chairs, snacks and drinks for an evening of music. There will be food vendors on site.
The concert is at 7 p.m. at the North Beach Band Shell, 7275 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.
The teens from Magic City Opera will host a free performance on Friday, July 20 at 7 p.m. at the iconic Olympia Theater, 174 E. Flagler St.
Members of the group’s Teen Opera Intensive will present a show that incorporates opera, operetta and musical theater. The performance is the conclusion of a two-week day camp when where participants received invaluable hands-on experience from leading industry professionals and performers.
